Reading Council have introduced a new process for procurement in the contract called DASL (Domiciliary Accreditation Selection List locally known as Dazzle!). Enara Abbey are included on the list and are quickly learning how to use the new email procurement system. The System works by a process of email bidding, all providers are informed by email of new services required and are asked to respond with an expression of interest.

Customers are advised who has made a bid and are able to choose which provider they prefer. The customers are informed of the quality rating of the providers which is categorised as gold, silver or bronze following regular audit of service by the Council. Most services are decided at this point, however the Customer is given the opportunity to meet with provider representatives if they are unsure. This shift of focus to the Customer is a real step towards personalisation and whilst this have been a steep learning curve for Enara Abbey’s staff they have positively embraced this change.
